NHS treatment
Orthodontic treatment is available under the NHS for certain types of condition. At Smiles Better Orthodontics, we are able to see patients on the NHS for an examination and advice for children up to the age of seventeen years.
Referrals are taken for NHS examination and advice from your Dentist only. They will have been advised on the types of condition that are eligable for treatment under the current NHS guidelines.
Once we have received the referral form, we will send you a letter asking you to telephone our practice to arrange a suitable appointment.
The Initial Examination
A set of X-rays, study models, photographs and reports will be taken and prepared.
If treatment is required, this will be discussed with the child and their parent / guardian at the time of the consultation.
